The Neuromuscular Disease Group was registered with the Cochrane
Collaboration in March 1998 with its editorial base in King’s College
London. In September 2008 the editorial base moved to the MRC
Centre for Neuromuscular Disease in the Institute of Neurology,
University College London. It aims to provide systematic reviews
of all interventions for all neuromuscular diseases, including
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/motor neuron disease, peripheral nerve
disorders, myasthenia gravis and neuromuscular function disorders,
and muscle diseases. Beginning in late 2008 the Group will prepare
systematic reviews of diagnostic test accuracy.
Details of completed and planned reviews can be found here. A
complete list of topics under consideration for reviews is available
here.
The Editorial Base is funded by grants from the United Kingdom
Department of Health core grant to The Cochrane Collaboration and
from the European Union TREAT-NMD programme.
The Group membership has risen to over 300 researchers, healthcare
professionals and consumers from around the world.
Anyone interested in contributing to the work of the Group is invited
